Histeria De Venezuela

Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 8:00 PM
$45, $65, $85, $105 plus fees

In the midst of the tragic crisis that Venezuela faces right now, we want to take a look at our hysteria, sorry, we meant our history, to know why so many Venezuelans have left their homeland, wondering what is the reason for a country with all the richness, beauty such as Venezuela, has lost its way and reached this dramatic situation. The show is a humorous reflection - with the characteristic style of Emilio Lovera and Laureano Marquez.

It is our mission to mentor and teach them to be strong and fearless, to take the stage and to show everyone that they are each a Queen in their own right. Our goal is to have a great show where young girls sing, dance, recite a poem and show off what makes them special and appreciate their Caribbean and American Culture. One of the major components of the show is that girls will put on a traditional Carnival costume and dance to Caribbean music. Florida Grand Opera presents Frida

Sunday, March 16, 2019 at 7:30 PM
Sunday, March 17, 2019 at 3:00 PM
$25, $50, $75, $99

Robert Xavier Rodríguez’s colorful score is a perfect match for the passionate art of the legendary painter Frida Kahlo. Although the artist was wracked by agonizing physical pain and caught up in a stormy marriage to Diego Rivera, the flame that fueled Kahlo’s art just kept burning and never turned to ash. She created fifty-five self-portraits. But no portrait of her is quite as revealing as the one in Rodríguez’s opera.
