Community Programs

  1. Chaplains

    The Miramar Police Department’s Volunteer Chaplains Unit was established to provide aid and comfort to those in need and to provide a calm and thoughtful presence in times of stress, hardship and grief.

  2. Citizens On Patrol

    The Citizens On Patrol program is made up of volunteers who, after background checks have been completed, are trained to patrol their communities, acting as the “Eyes and Ears” for the police department.

  3. Citizens' Police Academy

    The Miramar Police Department’s Citizens’ Police Academy is a series of classes designed to educate the public about police operations within the city of Miramar.

  4. Neighborhood Crime Watch

    Neighborhood Watch is the joining of forces by police and citizens to reduce and prevent crime in your neighborhood. Citizens become extra eyes and ears for the police department.

  5. Police Athletic League (PAL)

    Developing youth leaders through community partnerships that foster effective mentoring, tutoring and coaching programs incorporated in 1989. Miramar PAL in cooperation with the Miramar Police Department and City of Miramar provides year-round educational and athletic youth related activities to youth between the ages of 3 and 17 years old and their families.

  6. Police Explorers

    Police Explorers are involved in training sessions on a weekly basis which familiarizes the members with all aspects of law enforcement.

  7. Road Patrol

    The Road Patrol Division is the largest in the Miramar Police Department’s organizational structure. Road Patrol is the foundation upon which the agency’s Community Oriented Policing Bureau is built.

  8. Volunteers in Policing

    Volunteers have the opportunity to give back to their country, their state, and their city through the hours they volunteer.

  9. ¡Hola! Hispanic Outreach Law Enforcement Academy

  10. 2016 Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program

    The Miramar Police Department is requesting public comment from all Miramar residents on the U.S. Department of Justice 2016 Byrne Justice Assistance Local Solicitation Grant Program.
