The Miramar Cultural Center/ArtsPark public art installation.

4/30/2008, by Miramar Cultural Arts Center

Located in our botanical garden, Alison Sky’s artwork is designed to be an exquisite water feature in the garden. It consists of seven glass panels linked together in an origami-like fashion to depict a silhouette of an environmental scene. The design evolves through a tableau of sunrises and sunsets enhanced by lighting located at the base, enabling a beautifully staged sunset to continue well after dark. Sky’s piece emphasizes the Cultural Center/ArtsPark botanical garden as a destination in its own right

Ms. Sky describes her work as inspiration drawn from nature and the theatre of life; Combining sculpture, language and context to create site-specific narratives.
