Haitian Art Exhibition

Elementary, Middle and High school students in Miramar were invited to participate in a Haitian Flag Day Art contest in May 2021. They were encouraged to create an art piece that provided them the opportunity to express themselves through art that would showcase their understanding of how the Haitian culture may be enjoyed through food, family, art or celebrations. The three students whose artwork were selected from each school level received a prize of $300 for art supplies for their respective school. The winners were acknowledged at the City’s Haitian Cultural Celebration on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Shirley Branca Park. Featured here is the creative artwork of all 33 submissions.
